The weather was "not playing nicely with others" for most of today. We knew something was afoot when we arrived at our favourite breakfast spot, "Two Brothers", and there were none of the usual line ups. What a busy day! We had numerous visitors to the iSC-RFSC booth. Some were old friends and a we met a lot of new ones. It was also great to speak the native "taal" again, so thanks to all those South African vistors who stopped in to say hello!
All this got me thinking about how important AirVenture is to the aviation

While there is always some interesting going on in the world of Rotax engines, most of it was over shadowed by the arrival of the new Airbus A380. After an amazingly slow fly-by and some really tight turns, the huge and very quiet aircraft did a gentle landing and came to a stop in AeroShell square. AirVenture 2009 is off to an amazing start! Ok, lets sum it up quickly by saying that there is no more room for airplanes to fly-in and the campground is nearly full as well. Despite the bad afternoon weather - the first day of AirVenture 2009 was busy.
